This week’s Team Member Tuesday features, Mustafa Kammar, Data Scientist at Travelers Haven. My favorite thing about working at Travelers Haven is “The laid-back culture, the people, and the fact that you can walk to any one and ask them for assistance no matter what their position/title is,” explained Mustafa.
Mustafa was born in Damascus, Syria, he moved to Abu Dhabi, U.A.E when he was 5 years old and attended American University of Sharjah for his Undergraduate in Accounting. He moved to the U.S. to finish his MBA in Accounting at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon and where he spent 2 of the best years of his life (so far). After the completion of his MBA degree he decided to get a 2nd masters at Denver University in Data Sciences where he interned at Travelers Haven for his thesis project and led him his current role as Data Science with the company.
What’s one thing people don’t know about you?
I think very few people here might know that but I play Underwater Hockey, yes it is a thing. Also, I basically spent most of my time growing up on an Island, because Abu Dhabi is an Island, and my home was about 0.5 miles away from the beach.
Where’s one place you wish you traveled?
I have always wanted to road trip through the Canadian Rockies all the way up to Alaska, preferably in an RV and ideally in the summertime, visiting the different National Parks in Canada and Alaska.
